About Arlen
Arlen Lancaster has more than twenty years of experience shaping, funding, and implementing conservation solutions.His background is uniquely deep and broad. He has worked at the intersection of agriculture and conservation at the highest levels.He headed the U.S. Government's preeminent conservation agency; guided the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) interactions with Congress, States, and Tribes; advised on conservation legislation and policy in the United States Senate; and worked for one of the worlds largest conservation non-profits.He also has experience at the state and local level where he is an elected supervisor for his local conservation district and has served on numerous government and non-profit boards and working groups that promote rural, agricultural, and conservation interests.
Thirteenth Chief of the Natural Resource Conservation Service, and its first Asian American Chief.
Led USDA's negotiations with Congress on the conservation title of the 2008 Farm Bill and directed implementation.
